Get Your Legal House in Order Before Investors Start Looking

When you're raising capital, investors aren't only evaluating your business opportunity. They're also evaluating the company behind it.

Corporate records, ownership, contracts, intellectual property and other legal issues can surface during due diligence — often at exactly the wrong time.

Meyer Law's Ready to Raise™ Legal Package helps you identify potential legal issues before investor diligence begins.

Our team reviews key areas of your company's legal foundation, identifies gaps and potential risks, and gives you a prioritized roadmap so you know what to address before entering a financing process.

Choose Your Fundraising Stage

The legal needs of a company preparing for its first outside investment are very different from those of a company preparing for institutional financing. Ready to Raise™ is available at three levels so the depth of our review matches your company's stage.

Angel + Pre-Seed — $3,000
Includes up to 5 hours of legal review for early-stage companies preparing for their first outside capital.

Seed — $5,000
Includes up to 10 hours of legal review for companies with more developed operations, ownership, contracts and intellectual property preparing for a seed financing.

Series A — $10,000
Includes up to 20 hours of legal review for growing companies preparing for more extensive institutional investor diligence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Ready to Raise™ level should I choose?

Choose the level that most closely corresponds to the financing you're preparing for:

Angel + Pre-Seed — Preparing for your first outside investment or early angel financing.

Seed — Preparing for a seed financing with a more developed company, customer base, team or legal history.

Series A — Preparing for institutional financing and a more extensive investor diligence process.

If you're unsure, contact us before purchasing and we'll help you determine the right fit.

Is this the same as investor due diligence?

No. Ready to Raise™ is a pre-fundraising legal readiness review designed to help your company prepare for a future diligence process. Investors and their counsel will conduct their own diligence based on the particular transaction.

Does this guarantee we'll be ready for investor due diligence?

No. Every financing and investor diligence process is different. Ready to Raise™ is designed to identify potential legal issues based on the materials reviewed and help you prepare before fundraising.

Will Meyer Law fix the issues identified during the review?

Remediation work is not included in the package price. Your Ready to Raise™ Roadmap will identify recommended next steps, and Meyer Law can separately help address the issues identified.

Does this include fundraising documents or negotiating with investors?

No. This package focuses on legal readiness. Financing documents, SAFE or preferred-stock documentation, investor negotiations, securities filings and closing work are separately scoped.

How much material will you review?

The amount of legal review included depends on your selected package:

  • Angel + Pre-Seed — up to 5 hours
  • Seed — up to 10 hours
  • Series A — up to 20 hours

We allocate the included review time across the legal areas most relevant to your company rather than dividing it into predetermined categories.

If the volume or complexity of your company's documents requires additional review, we'll let you know before exceeding the package scope. You can choose to prioritize the remaining review within your included hours or authorize additional work at Meyer Law's standard hourly rates.

How far in advance should we do this?

Ideally, give yourself enough time to address issues before formal investor diligence begins. For many companies, beginning the assessment 1–3 months before an anticipated fundraising process can provide useful lead time.

How long does the assessment take?

Most Ready to Raise™ reviews are completed within 2–4 weeks after we receive the documents and information necessary to begin the review.
